To close out 2014, the Legion hosted the Annual Potluck Christmas Party. Numerous dishes were contributed, many people dined, and then were entertained by local band, the Homebrew Line. We hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to the Legion in 2015.

The 2014 Remembrance Day service, held at the Arborg Bifrost Community Centre, was well attended by over 200 people this year. A fitting tribute to those who served, and continue to serve, our country. A light luncheon for members and service personnel followed at the Arborg Legion Branch #161.

To celebrate Legion Week, September 21st to 27th, the Arborg Legion hosted a Fish Fry Supper, followed the presentation of Membership Pins, and entertainment by A.R. Cash & the Rebels. The food was great, many pins were presented and the Johnny Cash tribute band was a huge hit with the packed house. A great night. Of notable mention was the 60 Year pin presented to Veteran Norm Shaw. A full listing of Members who received pins is listed on this website under Member Awards section.

May 6th was highlighted this year by yet another successful Ladies Auxiliary Spring Tea and Fashion Show. This well attended event featured fashions for all ages courtesy of Johnson's Clothing Store in Gimli, MB. A large Rainbow Auction selection as well as Raffle items added to the fun time. If you missed this year, mark your calendars for next May, and bring a friend!

We held Earth Hour on Saturday, March 22, and it went quite well. We are considering doing it again in future years. Those who attended enjoyed acoustic guitar entertainment and 'candle light' board games. A good time was had. Thank you to those who attended for being there to help make this a significant event and for those who stayed at home and turned out their lights, or reduced electrical consumption for at least 1 hour on that day. Respecting the earth is not limited to 1 day every year. Think about your consumption of 'goods and services' such as electricity, water, gas, etc. and see where you can reduce your impact on the environment.

Thanks goes out again to the Ladies Auxiliary with their help we purchased a new AED and assisted in the purchased of new window treatments for the club room. Come check out our new look!
